I have to think we'll see him again eventually. It will probably start with him appearing in some low-budget indies and then, maybe, several years down the road Hollywood will bring him back into fold.

Yes. He's done as a Hollywood star. I believe he'll work stage shows forever, nobody cares on the stage. And I think he'll do foreign films and be quite welcomed across the ocean. But he's done being a box office star.

I can picture someone from Spacey's PR camp saying "he seeked the treatment that he needed and paid his dues to society, now he just wants to move on with his life and go back to doing what he loves. Everybody makes mistakes, but we all deserve a second chance."
I believe in that philosophy, honestly, that no one is beyond redemption. Obviously he needs to spend some time away and take a hit for all his bullshit, but I'm not going to sit here and say I'll never watch another Kevin Spacey movie.
Thing is though, he's already 59 years old. That's something to consider. If he's going to try staging a comeback, he better shoot more that 5 year mark than for the 10 year mark.
Oh absolutely, I think he should definitely take a big dive for his actions, but the cynical part of me thinks that he will be welcomed back into the public sphere at some point in time. It might not happen though (there's a very good chance that it won't), perhaps just like OJ his reputation and career will forever be the punchline of a joke from here on in.

shareMel Gibson came back. Spacey has done the resident therapy for sexaholics thing. After that tape, "Let Me Be Frank," I don't know. Yes, he was playing a character, but the next step on the way back to acceptance is usually some sincere apologies. He doesn't look like he's going to be in the mood to do that.
I'm sorry to see him self-destruct. He was an incredible actor. Still is. But choices have consequences.
I've seen people equate Spacey's situation with Gibson's but I don't think they are that similar beyond the general fact that they both got in trouble and shunned by their industry.
The thing about Gibson is that his crime was . . . saying mean things. Frankly, I think Gibson never should gotten the treatment that he did.
With Spacey though, there are multiple reports of sexual assault as well as numerous people saying he made life on set uncomfortable and difficult for all involved. I'm not sure which, if any, of the accusations are true--though Spacey's own words would seem to indicate that at least SOME of them are--but I definitely think that what Spacey has been accused of is much worse than Gibson saying stuff that offended some people.
