What was she thinking working with Katherine Brooks?

Speaking as someone who's been a fan since/because of Adventures in Babysitting, I found myself cringing watching Waking Madison. An opus that includes roles in Leaving Las Vegas and gems like The Trigger Effect and Leo shouldn't have been desecrated with such a pointless role in a movie that tells a story told times and times before under the helm of people far more talented than Katherine Brooks, the queen of awful, clichéd directing. I don't have to check imdb to know this is by far the worst rated movie in Shue's career. And to think that after seeing her in Hamlet 2 and Piranha I thought she had the best agent ever...

I haven't seen Waking Madison (redbox doesn't even carry it yet), but I think it's too bad that Ms. Shue has yet another direct-to-video flick on her resume. At least Don McKay got a theatrical release, albeit a limited one.

Did you watch Waking Madison on video, zina-vukin?

Yes, the movie's out on DVD. I don't have a problem with direct-to-video movies if they work and there's something good about them. Roemer and Poots were good but it didn't matter because the movie was almost pointless.
