timely

reply

I doubt he actually will

reply

He is 77 Years Old he hasnt made a good film since The Departed

reply

Clint Eastwood is 89 and just made a movie.

reply

yeah that was contraverisal and insulted Olvia Wilde

reply

Is there a scandal with the movie? How did it insult Olivia Wilde?

reply

Maybe referring to this^? But that doesn't appear to insult Olivia Wilde, so your guess is as good as mine.

reply

Thank you.

reply

Even on his worst day, Scorsese is still an immensely talented director.

reply

The Irishman was excellent.

reply

I take it you didn't see the Irishman?

reply

Haha good one. Irishman was really underwhelming. It had strong points, yes, but oh God that one "store owner beat up" scene alone was so horribly bad, it is inexcusable.

reply

Scorsese still seems to have a lot of energy and it's quite likely he'll work again if a project appeals to him.

THE REAL PROBLEM WITH ELDERLY DIRECTORS.....THEY LIKE OLD MAN STORIES...BIOS,LONG DRAMAS,ETC...

reply

What used to be called complex, emotionally rich, adult stories for adults, you mean?

We need more of those.

reply

NO,JUST LONG BORING ULTRA VANILLA MOVIES.IM SORRY BUT OLD MEN GET BORING AND WEIRD...MY FATHER THE HIPPIE LEAD SINGER..NOW HE LISENS TO NPR AND BITCHES ABOUT HOW COLD IT IS.

reply

I disagree, but that's why there are so many different types of movies, to suit the tastes of everyone. You may feel differently about this when you're older … or, you may not. Some people get boring when they get old, and some get more interesting. Same thing with younger people, too—some boring, some interesting.

reply

RICHARD JEWEL,HOFFA,ROOSEVELT....THESE ARE NOT ENTERTAINING TOPICS...GEORGE MILLER IS THE ONLY OLDER GREAT DIRECTOR WHO HAS STUCK TO HIS LANE,INSTEAD OF APPLYING FOR THE DOCUMENTARY CHANNEL.

reply

Again, it depends on what one finds entertaining. Some find intelligence and study of the human condition quite entertaining, as well as enriching & enlightening. To each his own.

reply

LMAO...REMEMBER THAT WHEN YOURE SITTING THROUGH A 4 HOUR MOVIE ABOUT ROOSEVELT.

reply

It may turn out to be a wonderful film, and I don't see why it shouldn't, given the talent involved & the subject itself.

THE REAL PROBLEM WITH ELDERLY DIRECTORS.....THEY LIKE OLD MAN STORIES...BIOS,LONG DRAMAS,ETC...
***

Long, drawn-out, old man stories about sickness, hip-replacement surgery, mental decay, estrangement from children, repentance and death, aren't all these things supposed to be perfect escapist film material for us youngsters, since these are all concerns alien to our every day lives and problems?

In fact, the fast paced flicks about intrepid protagonists banging gorgeous chicks in between two explosions while doing coke with one hand and firing a G-36 at Godzilla with the other, should really be aimed at senior citizen, shouldn't they?

He's made some great movies in his later years. I can't wait for Devil in the White City and Roosevelt.

reply

Scorssese at his worst is better than 90% directors in any time and era, majority of directors are one or two hits wonders

Irishman is way better and less depressing than Nomadland for example

reply

Did anybody actually read the article? It's more than 6 years old! From 2013.

Which makes it even more stressful because he has already made a "couple of films" since then.

reply

If he does, he had a brilliant career

reply

exactly
