Have there been any other actors with his level of clout?

Are there any other actors who have/had the same level of control over his films as Arnie? For example, for Total Recall he had authority over all creative aspects of the film, script, production, and even certain aspects of marketing and distribution. Arnie literally pulled the producers aside and made them redo the marketing campaign for this movie. Not to mention he also chose the director and a lot of the actors; and he even got the producers to include certain VFX shots (the exterior shots of Mars) that were going to be cut for budgetary reasons. Not even an established director like Paul Verhoeven could convince them to keep the VFX shots but Arnie managed to do it. This is especially amazing because HE IS NOT A PRODUCER. His own money was NOT on the line.

Even on a movie like True Lies, James Cameron had to defer to Schwarzenegger and practically beg him to approve of Jamie Lee Curtis as a co-star. We're talking about Iron Jim here, the director who makes Hollywood studios tremble with fear!

This level of control is basically unheard of for an actor. Some of you might cite Tom Cruise as an example but Tom isn't just an actor, he's also a producer so it makes sense that he exercises similar authority. Is this level of control a relic of the days when the most important thing about a movie was the star? Or are there any other actors (not actor/producers like Stallone or Cruise) who have or had this kind of privilege?
