I so miss Meg Ryan.

Just an opinion: Despite the number of blockbuster movies under her belt, I've always felt Meg Ryan to be understated as an actress. A definite A-lister, but without all the A-list drama, scandal and BS associated with Hollywood (at least none that I had ever heard of). I always felt her to be an actress I truly loved, in so many movies I truly loved, yet in all my love for her, nothing stood out. I guess I never thought of her as a great CHARACTER actor. It seemed like every role she played was simply Meg Ryan. Never any deviation to a scripted character. Almost as though she was one lovable person who was the center of all these great movies.

Now she has disappeared (well, not DISAPPEARED, but she's become very obscure). The only info I find is that she began losing roles after her supposed "botched" plastic surgery. I don't get that. I've seen recent photos of her, and while plastic surgery almost NEVER goes unnoticed, it's not always bad, and I don't think it was done badly on her. She is still beautiful, looking younger than 55 IMHO, still looking like Meg Ryan, only "with a little work done". I cannot imagine why she felt the need to slip under the radar to do bit parts and voice work. She's better than that.

At the moment, I am watching You've Got Mail which happens to be a favorite of mine, along with

French Kiss,
Sleepless In Seattle,
Prelude To a Kiss,
When a Man Loves a Woman, and
Kate & Leopold.
