I agree.
Joe Versus the Volcano has a theme which probably goes over the heads of far too many people. It's a wonderful, insightful film, however, and contains many memorable lines -- one of which is probably my favorite line I've ever heard in a film, which Ryan's character, Patricia, says to Joe:
"My father says almost the
whole world's asleep.
Everybody you know, everybody
you see, everybody you talk
to. He says only a few people
are awake. And they live in a
state of constant total
amazement."
Ryan also plays three entirely different characters (the third of which being the least interesting, yet unfortunately receiving the most screen time) in this one film and does a nice job.
