talk about an actress who threw away her career

blue velvet, when harry met sally, ghost and pretty woman. 3 out of the 4 films made stars out of that actresses that starred in them. she must've been kicking herself.

3 out of 4 of them are also dreadful films. So, y'know, probably good choices in that respect.

but those films are classics, they will still be remembered greatly in history. the clay scene in Ghost is still reenacted now in parodies and spoofs.

If she did those films she would be even more famous now, if that's fame she's after.

Of the films you mentioned , personally , I only think that "Blue Velvet" and "Ghost" were good films - "Ghost" moreso than "Blue Velvet."

Being an entertainer is really tough , it involves making career-impacting decisions almost everyday.

Many actors/actresses and singers have turned down films and songs that had great public success. It can't really be helped that much.
Who knows why she turned them down?

I think her body of work up until now is so impressive that she didn't need those roles.

I think a lot of actresses had a chance to audition for "Pretty Woman" and turned it down. I think it was the kind of situation where only Julia Roberts could've "sparkled" in it the way that she did. That said , it's not a favorite film of mine. It's also rather boring and predictable.

I think Molly did great for herself and I think she's a wonderful actress.

Amicus verus est rara avis.

I agree, I mean Chevy Chase turned down Forest Gump, does that mean he would have been bigger then Hanks if he didn't?

blue velvet only good movie. ghost & pretty women complete crap.the meg ryan scene in when harry meet sally people remember. not a very good movie other wise.

Its so difficult to know what role to take and what roles to turn down
at the time Molly was only 22 years old

We will never know what path her career would have taken had she taken those film roles

I just saw Face the Music on Fox Movie Channel this morning
Molly was 25 when that film came out and she looked simply radiant!

I really miss her alot

She got offered a role in Blue Velvet? The part that went to Laura Dern, I assume. Well, she made bank after all the John Hughes movies, so I suppose she could afford to be picky. And agreed, the other 3 films are s**t.
