Does she hate Star Wars?

..?

reply

It's hard to say, considering it launched her into stardom. The fact that she has mostly shied away from acting in sci-fi movies for the past 15 years might give a clue. I think she still shows up for Star Wars conventions, but I can't confirm that.

reply

LOL!

"launched her into stardom" ?

are you joking?

she is on record as saying this practically ENDED her career

reply

But remember, she then went and worked her way back up after she finished "Revenge of the Sith," and she's still famous for her other films, not just "Star Wars." Sadly, a lot of the movies she was in after that sucked, the biggest offenders being "Closer" and "Black Swan."

reply

SO THE OSCAR WINNERS?

reply

Leon did that.

reply

BINGO^🙂

reply

Launched her career???

She was the big name star at the time.

reply

Nobody outside of Hollywood knew who she was until "Star Wars Episode I" came out.

reply

Wrong. Leon launched her with one of the best child performances ever, and she has hovered around upper echelons of Hollywood ever since, flitting between mega budget blockbusters and Oscar-bait dramas.

reply

I'm not talking about the inner workings of Hollywood. Fame doesn't mean jack shit if us regular peasants don't even know the person's name beyond the borders of L.A.

reply

‘Regular peasants’ might not but the general public are very familiar with her from her big budget and Oscar-bait films.

reply

"Regular peasants" and "general public" mean the same thing.

Let's put it this way; the only people who knew about her before "Star Wars," were people within the sphere of show biz. Very few people watched films like "The Professional" or "Mars Attacks!" or went to see her in the Broadway version of "Anne Frank," nor would they even remember her in those films/plays.

She became a household name for Star Wars fans after playing Queen Amidala and later Padme, and people are gonna forever remember her for that role.

Only reason she even won an Oscar was because she literally worked her ass off (and almost destroyed her sanity) by acting in an indie film most people would have ignored, and it not been for other people campaigning for it among the Academy members at parties.

To answer the original question, I think she dislikes the fallout of playing Padme, but she doesn't regret that it made her famous.

reply

No, she was at least a B-list star, a solidly bankable name and general audiences were very familiar with her.

reply

Prove it.

reply

Why?

reply

She was already A-List and very much in demand at the time.

reply

Which only furthers my point.

reply

Besides the one on your head? I have explained it to you multiple times, but you refuse to listen, that's the sign of a willful idiot. Take to heart this phrase, droop:

"The only thing worse than stupidity is aggressive stupidity."

reply

Your ‘explanation’ is ignorant guff you pulled out of your ass, and you’ve been corrected by two people now. By all means continue though - it’s fun watching you smash your head against the wall repeatedly with your bizarre need to downplay an actress’ popularity.

reply

Grasping at straws, eh? The Professional was a very popular film and continues to be. It's okay to be wrong, it's a little pathetic when your arugment begins to look like trolling. Even though we all know it's now. And who calls themself a peasant?

reply

I smell a troll, and you stink.

reply

i think these actors have now realize they were trained with the prequels to act with cgi, green screen and ping pong balls and motion capture etc.

the jango fett guy went on to make aquaman and dora and the lost city of gold in which he had to work with cg characters.

reply

so i think she should look back at making the prequels with fondness because she then worked in the thor movies, annihilation etc

reply

I would hate having done Your Highness more.

reply

she probably is still getting paid from the star wars films.

reply

I think in some interview she says that she regrets it because the prequels weren't well received. Something along the lines of it set my career back for years. I'm sure she didn't mind the paycheck though. I think she has lots of talent that was poorly used, like most, in the prequels, but sometimes you do a big project for the money. Hence her return to the MCU.

reply

Well she can't possibly be proud of her performance in those films!

reply

But in my opinion she was not that bad in the prequels, specially in the Revenge of the Sith her performance was good.

reply

Oh, she was pretty terrible, but I don't blame her for being bad. I blame "The Worst Actors' Director Alive", George Lucas.

reply

Guess what? He'll be back!

reply

Oh, Lucas is filthy rich enough to do what he likes, including making films where totally ignores the actors.

reply

Star Wars hates her. Such an overrated little Me Tooer.

reply

she posts a picture of padme on instagram on at least the last 3 year's star wars days.

and posed with storm troopers on a post when she was at disney.
