Alma Har’el Defends Natalie Portman Against The Backlash That She Doesn’t Work With Female Directors

Can't believe anyone takes McGowan and SJWs seriously. Not many female directors outside TV.

On Twitter (via IndieWire), Har’el wrote: “If you need a class at being classy read Natalie Portman’s statement. Appreciation for the discourse but Natalie fought for [Patty] Jenkins (“Thor 2”) and [Lynne] Ramsay (“Jane Got a Gun”) and many more. She also worked with many women directors on music videos and advertisements. I stan this class act and thank her.”

In her own statement a couple of days ago, Portman also admitted to having made few films with female directors, but clarified that it wasn’t for lack of trying, citing her effort in “helping get female directors hired on projects which they were then forced out of because of the conditions they faced at work.” As Har’el points out, Portman has fought for women directors, even if the studios were against it. It was reported back in 2011 that Portman signed on to appear in “Thor 2” mainly because Patty Jenkins was set to be the first female MCU director, after considering stepping down from acting for a while, and was reportedly “furious” about Jenkins departure.

Some male actors fight with male directors, so it comes to no surprise that some female actors do not get along with female directors.

The question your kind of asking is what sex is better at handling divas or men with huge egos? ( I am not implying that Ms Portman is a diva)

I am willing to place a bet that experts in field of psychiatry would say that a director of the opposite sex would have better results generally.
