She is front runner to win her Second Oscar!! Who knew?

She was pretty solid in "V for Vendetta" and "Closer", tho. She actually won the Golden Globe for her latter turn in that. And that was directed by none other than Mike Nichols - a pretty smart judge of talent. Would Mike have worked with Natalie if he thought her a 'bad' actress? No, I didn't think so!

A great actor can consistently deliver good performances time after time without missing a beat.

On the subject of Hilary Swank, I think that she is a good actress who picks bad projects.

That tells you more about the dearth of talent in Hollywood in comparison to quality of performance.

Its not that she's that good an actress -- everybody else is just that bad. Even in the early 2000s or the 90s had this been the case her performance would have been ignored.

Seems like with the right direction she can be good. Also, she is good and crying jags, and if a film requires her to walk around being wooden and sad she has met her perfect role match.
