Do you think his portrayal of Jack would have been substantially different than Leo D.'s or very similar? Would he have had any chemistry with Kate Winslet? Would all the girls who reportedly saw the film multiple times have done the same with River as the lead?
On the spur of the moment, I can imagine River playing Jack like Devo in "Love you to death". Both are free spirits, though Devo is a bit more quirky. River would have played him a bit more unrestrainedly and with more pzazz and vigor.
