What are her favourite roles she has done?

I am asking as a huge Batman Returns fan. I like to think that the Catwoman role is one of her favourites as it without a doubt is one of her most established.

Does anybody have any links to interviews or footage where she looks back on her career and discusses her favourite (or not so!) roles?

During her episode of inside the actors studio she mentioned that Angela in Married to the Mob and Susie in The Fabulous Baker Boys were two of her favorites. I think the episode is on YouTube

I wonder if Michelle’s career started to cool in the early 2000s, in part because she kept doing out all of these melodramatic, Lifetime Channel or “Oprah’s Book Club” type of films. In other words, much of her films seemed to be targeted heavily to female audiences and not stuff w/ more mass appeal like Batman Returns or What Lies Beneath.

I think something like Dangerous Minds worked or was successful was because it was more youth oriented (people saw Michelle, who played the “cool teacher” in Dangerous Minds, in the Coolio video on MTV, which in itself was a big hit song) rather than something that you’re mom would generally be more interested.

Early in her career, Pfeiffer was beautiful, quirky, exotic and cool. But later, she gravitated towards movies that were supposed to be “important” but looked like homework. Eventually, she became beautiful but boring.

Really? Those two?? She didn't mention Frankie from Frankie & Johnny? Now that was an interesting role, a character with real depth. Or what about Rose from A Thousand Acres? That movie might be messy, but Rose and Frankie are the most interesting characters she's played so far!

She liked playing Frankie, but she hasn't referred to it in the same way as the other two. As for Rose, she commented how she felt she never really "got there" with that character in terms of properly bringing it to life.

She said on inside the actors studio she says she picks a part on whether she can hear the charachter when she reads a script. She said something like I can hear them I can hear their voice their rythum the charachter. White oleander was a challange for her she said she wasn't sure who that woman or charachter was but she knew types of the other female charachters in the script.

Wow, since in my opinion it's her best role to date, everytime I watch tht movie it feels like she gave that role her all.

And yet she did bring her more than properly to life.

Thanks for your reply BabyfacedAssassin!

I'm not surprise by her favorites they are mine too, but i would add Catwoman to me list, it's the film that made me fan. IMO, her career started to cool off in the late 90s, with all those boring movies. she actually had a bit of comeback with 'what lies beneath" and should have rode that train for a little while longer. I believe that was the biggest mistake of her career taking her hiatus right after that film. she missed out on a good decade.

Why am I so good at playing bitches? I think it’s because I’m not a bitch.-Bette Davis

She hated the Catwomen costume. It's one of her roles I never remember so I don't think of it as as her most established, IMO.

Baker Boys, Up Close, Married to the Mob are my faves.
