best role ...

For me ... it was Jimmy Hoffa by a mile.

I've never been impressed with Pacino's acting or roles.
He's been in some good movies, entertaining movies, but
to me he has been hamming it up in most of them. His
attraction at the box office is that women think he's cute
and he acts mostly in guy movies, though not always. He
had a lot of charisma, but not necessarily acting chops, but
also not to say he is bad either.

I was really surprised to see how dry and straight Pacino's
acting was as Jimmy Hoffa. He did a great job, he really
caught the look of the guy and his attitude.

I actually think Pacino did give the best performance. I don't say if DeNiro did a bad job, but he is more of a character actor - always playing himself. and I hate his sardonic face with its resting grimace.

WHAT THE FUCK POINT ARE YOU MAKING???

The first Godfather film? He's definitely not hamming it up there...

I'll grant you that Hoffa was a brilliant role and a brilliant performance.

Pacino as Michael Corleone was because he was young, handsome, good voice and Italian. It was a good performance or course, but it was just modeling, not acting. To me Hoffa was far and away obviously his best role.
