A cynical Tom Hanks

That is pretty much the summary of how I would describe Bill Murray...he's like Tom Hanks, but a more cynical version of him. Not in a bad way...but let's just say that they could be in a movie together where they could play brothers...one who is more enthusiastic and cheerful, and the other is more negative and downbeat.

Gee, if that movie was made, it would be great! (In the 1980s, of course).

Bill was a movie star first. And was always much funnier. Tom, being a normal looking guy, could cross over into drama. Bill could not. Not really.

It's funny though you say this, because Howard Stern, long ago, referred to Tom Hanks as a "Second Rate Bill Murray." When his interviewer, Stuttering John, asked: "Are you afraid of the success of Steve Guttenburg?" Another cute curly haired guy. Tom said, after a laugh, "Well Steve isn't a threat as much as he used to be, and, as everyone knows, I'm a second rate Bill Murray."

So he obviously knew Stern's show.

Anyhow, times have changed and now it's the other way around. The Uncle is said to be imitating the nephew.
