Has he ever played a non-depressed character?

All the movies I've seen him in, he plays a depressed and maybe cynical character. Most of those movies are depressing ''fake comedies'' but even in those that are a little comedic (Groundhog Day, Scrooged) he still plays a depressed man.

I'm asking because I've mostly watched him in Wes Anderson films (which I very much like but find depressing) and of the 60 movies he's appeared in, I've only watched 17.

If he ever played a happy character, I'd love to see the movie, preferably if it's a comedy. I'd filter his filmography for the comedy genre IMDb and I have different definitions for comedy.

So, can you please recommend me movies based on that (assuming there are)?

Thank you very much in advance.

I've been watching him since Ghostbusters and I think that is just his schtick. Even in Ghostbusters he is just someone going through the motions and being a smartass along the way. He's really good at it and when I see him in interviews he is the same way. So it's hard to tell if the person you see on screen is really a reflection of who he is or it's just an act. Some actors can break that label like Robin Williams who became a very good actor in other ways other than comedy. Others keep to what they know like Al Pacino who's been playing the same run down man who likes to occasionally yell for years. I think Bill is just really good at being Bill.

In "What About Bob" he plays a crazy, annoying and mostly happy character who drives his doctor up a wall. In "Kingpin" his character is a cocky and arrogant D-bag.

He wasn't depressed in Little Shop of Horrors.
