Why must there be sexual exclusivity in a relationship?
Before one gets exclusive, one has free reign to have a long list of phone numbers to call but then when you want to stay with one person all of a sudden that long list is taboo? Why?
Why can't we all just enjoy each other?
Men want that exclusivity as well when they are married to a hot woman so it's not just the men who stray and not just the woman who cry foul and I've been dumped.

I don't find that a valid argument. People have sex with multiple partners without getting diseases before they get married so why can't they continue to have safe sex with multiple partners after marriage?
Maybe because a lot of people think that when you get married you are commiting yourself to that person you married. Them and them alone.

Because that is the purpose of marriage.

I was reading an article about the history of aids and the spread of HIV in Africa, one theory is that HIV spreads so quickly because couples tends to be an overlap when it comes to finishing one relationship and starting another.
In the western world, even though there are plenty of people who feel they're entitled to sexual relationships with several people simultaneously, serial monogamy is practised to a much higher degree.
Was also reading about the differences in attitudes to adultery in France, where as the OP would like hubbies and wives regularly cheat on each other. Some people have theorised that this culture has come from the idea that French spouses just don't care about each other that much to worry about adultery.
