I would like to see a McGregor film, but don't know where to start. . .something not violent or grim.

My favourites are Trainspotting and Shallow Grave, but they're probably not what you're looking for.

Try Moulin Rouge, Big Fish or Little Voice.

His BEST - for me - "Moulin Rouge". Nicole Kidman was nominated for an Oscar for it, but many, many critics commented that Ewan's performance was better than hers. I also liked "The Island", but I'm a bit of a sci-fi geek, so it might not be to your taste. Also loved "Brassed Off" and "Ghost Writer".

I would say Moulin Rouge comes first and then Trainspoting,Big Fish and Ghost Writer.
