Madonna to Direct Her Own Biopic at Universal

Would this be the first time a performer has written and directed their own biopic? Seems dangerously close to a vanity project.

I’ll still see it though. If anyone has had a career fascinating enough to make an entertaining film about it, it’s Madonna.

I too enjoy the smell of my own farts.

Had this been 20 years ago, I might be interested.

Seems like a bad idea to me. Hopefully she'll have the right sort of collaborators to steer it in the right direction. While we don't need a warts-and-all treatment, not having any distance or perspective on yourself seems like it wouldn't lend to making a credible story.
