Jude Law is mesmerizing!

Watching the Young Pope series is a bit of a mind trip if not a visual feast. For years, I've caught Jude Law in this movie or that and thought of him as a solid actor. Until The Young Pope series. He's completely honed his skills over the years. I cannot think of a better performance by an actor in a very long time in any role. And I think he's enjoying it.

Have to say he carries his good looks with confidence and class making him a joy to watch.

I agree

I agree with you both, Jude Law is terrific in The Young Pope. To be honest, he's great in everything he tackles, even if the project is weak.

How nice that Mr. Law has been given such an opportunity like this series. I barely took note of him throughout his career - maybe Ripley and Cold Mountain. It was almost like he fell off the radar until Sherlock Holmes which is just plain fun and joy to watch.

I hear he's been working in live theatre and one of those actors who does their research. Respect level over the top for anyone who tries not rely on their looks in that business and remains true to the craft. While he's definitely not hard to look at honestly, he has a presence on screen now that rivals that of some of the classic greats and including some of the newer ones like Cumberbatch. I suspect and sincerely hope we'll be treated to Mr. Law's work for years to come.

Agreed, BluFee. I've seen a lot of his work through the years though never his stage work, though I have seen snippets of his Hamlet. Although he's made some lesser films, his continues to grow as an actor. I hope I have the opportunity to enjoy his work in the future.

Well I will try to visit youtube to see if there are any snippets of him in Hamlet. I would love to see how he fares with Shakespeare. Thanks digitaldiva!

Hi BluFee, he's quite remarkable as Hamlet and plans to do more Shakespeare. He's done Prince Hal, now wants to do Benedict and Macbeth. I'd love to see his take on Richard III. I've seen Cumberbatch's but I think Jude Law would bring something different.

off topic....

Have u seen Split?

The actor James McAvoy resembled me Jude very much on his expressions, it seems they have same kind acting school background. Do u know what i'm talking about?
BTW it would be a very good role for Jude!

I plan to see Split after I catch up on all the Oscar nominated films. I love McAvoy but knowing what a great actor Jude is, I think he would be fantastic in that sort of role.
