Top of The Lake - Season 2

I do not know how written-in-stone this is. But I guess it is worth sharing and discussing.

The actress will be returning to Australia in June to film the second series of Top Of The Lake, a menacing murder mystery helmed by her longtime collaborator and fellow Antipodean Jane Campion. The shooting schedule will coincide with Kidman and Urban’s anniversary on June 25

It makes sense,

She even publicly kissed Naomi Watts to celebrate her reunion with Campion. I would think she'd be pretty determined to do Top of the Lake.

I'm just concerned about Silent Wife, it's her only film project announced so far and no new details have come out.

As far as I am concerned, I hope Silent Wife never happens. That plot sounds atrocious... and the original source was weak, to say the least.

She can do so much better than that. For example, taking P51 to Broadway.

I have the same feeling.
This is not a good material in first place.
Even with Adrian Lyne as director.

And I have the same feeling, perro and michelle. It will be received about as well as Before I Go to Sleep, which did miserably at the box office and the critics were negative on Nicole's (and Colin's) performance. She doesn't need to do that again.
😒

Perro, I think Kidman can bring something special to the role in Silent Wife, it's tailor made for her. The woman is so cold, calculating yet sympathetic and damaged.

I'm sure Kidman can bring so much to the film and Adrian Lyne has style.

I think it's a good choice.
Remember how succesful Hemingway & Gellhorn was to her? She was nominated For Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globes. It's one of my favourites performance from her to be honest.

I loved the first season of Top of the lake and Jane Campion is one of my favourites directors so I would love to see Nicole reunite with her. Don't forget that Poor Campion had to see Grace of Monaco at Cannes. It's great she wants to work with Nicole once again. Campion wrote a role for especially for Nicole. Maybe it will be in the vain of Holly Hunter character from first season which would be great. I just hope Nicole will make it. The dates are confusing because Elisabeth Moss said the filming of second season will start in March. Nicole is supposed to join the set in June which is kind of late. Plus Adrian Lyne have talked also about June for The Silent Wife.

Both Big Little Lies and Top of the Lake have all the right elements to become successes. Add to that Nicole recent successes with Photograph 51. It will be great support for her movie career. Maybe she will finally be receiving more interesting opportunites from great directors. That's why I think she should definitely think about bringing Photograph 51 to Broadway.

I thought that TOTL series one was pretty messy to be honest. The mood of the show was great but the plot itself wasn't particularly groundbreaking, the dialogue was rather poor and I don't think the actors gave their best either. Moss's accent was truly awful and Holly Hunters role just seemed completely random.
If Nicole is going to be in the second series then I hope its a big improvement.
