anyone finally sick of seeing him in movies???

i'm sure there are a multitude of people who like me are so sick of seeing him in every other movie. oh my gosh this guy is literally in 3 movies every single year and has been for the past 20 years. he's made 100 movies in 40 years so just do the math there.

my gosh, and then if it wasn't enough we also have to see him in all those credit card commercials on tv. a problem is how he's connected to so many huge profile franchises like star wars, the avengers and the xxx series. the avengers series doesn't just include the avengers movies it also includes other movies with the avengers characters.

Closer to 200 but it’s not like you HAVE to watch all of his movies.

reply

that's not the point, i just read on here he's been in 100 movies. the point is he's in too many freaking movies. and he doesn't care if he fits the part, he doesn't care how good the movie is and he doesn't care if he plays the same character in every movie. there's no versatility in his performances. and it's good i don't have to watch all of his movies and you don't have to watch all of his movies to see the pattern which emerges in almost all of them in the last 20 years which is he's playing the angry black man trying to get back at society or even a score. he's so generic that he's a caricature at this point.

reply

100 movies in 40 years would be a normal output for an actor.

reply

no it wouldn't not at all. no one makes 100 movies in 40 years or in an entire career. that's why when john wayne did it it was a milestone and amazing. that's more than 2 movies a year average. that's way above the average that a successful actor makes in 40 years.

reply

Is he simply an actor who's become too greedy and can't say no to any project or does he just want to be immortalized in as many box office hit movies as possible before he dies.

reply

the hate is real huh?samuel l jackson is a natural treasure! so stop hating on his success or just dont watch his movies!

reply

another blind fan of trash without a shred of discernment of quality.

Perhaps the movie studios are just trying to troll the general viewing audience.

What I'm wondering is why does he have to yell in all of his films? Even Dave Chappelle pointed that out on his show in the early 2000s.

I don't know, look at Mickey Rooney. He has an impressive résumé. Maybe Samuel's the go-to guy when they can't find anybody else.

it's too much, he's in like every other movie, i'm more sick of him than even mark wahlberg who it seems is in every other movie nowadays. there is a thing called over exposure. someone else who i'm sick of seeing in trailers for movies is charlize theron. she literally is in every other her kind of movie movie. i used to love her, now i can't stand the sight of her face in a trailer for a movie. but the worst, most annoying because they are over exposed actor is without a doubt the rock. oh my gosh now he is in every other action movie. and at least all these other actors are really good actors, he is not just a good actor even. he's the blandest action movie star of all time.

It’s called “the lowest common denominator.” As H.L. Mencken wrote long ago, “Nobody ever went broke by underestimating the taste of the American public.” My problem with Jackson is not his omnipresence. My problem is that he always plays an obnoxious asshole. Seen one Sam performance? You’ve seen ‘em all. He’s far from being the only Name who is one-trick. His loud, foul trick annoys the daylights out of me. He portrays a peasant. And, of course, a lot of peasants buy movie tickets.

I'm tired of his over exposure too, but I'll never grow tired of his great acting in Quentin Tarantino's movies.

Even though you're sick of seeing his face in practically everything, you must admit, Samuel L. Jackson was perfectly casted in Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight.

When he's not chasing fortune and fame, he can be a great actor.

reply

interesting. how come he always turns on and turns up his acting abilities and talents in qt films? he doesn't in almost every other of his movies in the last 10 years. he was great in changing lanes.

reply

Yes, especially since he hasn't done an interesting role in years.

reply

I wish he had more range. He's great at being SLJ. Now I'd like to see him be Ryan Gosling as Lars.

reply

Nope.

reply

Not really.

I don't watch all his movies and neither should anyone really, because taste. I enjoy what I see him in. Do I think he often reprises the same role? Absolutely. But I also know he's capable of more, and I see that in the films I view that feature him. Idk why, but I enjoy him. I actually think he's one of the actors I would miss if he totally went away; I'd rather tire of him than miss him, but at present, I haven't tired of him yet.
