Doc

I read he is going to direct the series "Doc" for HBO. I kind of cringed because his movies can be so flat. I really like the book "In the Heart of the Sea" but he just sucked the life out of it in his movie. I really like the book Doc by Mary Doria Russell, plus Val Kilmer did such a good job in "Tombstone" portraying Doc Holliday that I am definitely concerned. I hope they cast it very carefully. Howard seems like a really nice guy but his movies are always lacking an emotional depth. It reminds me of when I see a Norman Rockwell painting. Technically, yeah they are almost perfect, but I just don't feel a thing when I look at them. But hey, on the upside HBO's "Deadwood" was awesome so there is hope.
