At the end of Hannibal we see some things that are stand alone.

The First being the strangeness
of Lecter cutting off his own hand.

The Second that a escaped serial killer cannibal with one hand can get through TSA at a International Airport and get on a international flight un-noticed.

The Third being that Lecter takes note of a unusual young boy who is interested in eating the brain that Lecter brought along with him on a international flight.
Which begs the question of will Lecter be taking on a possible apprentice in the very near future?
