Did Mr. Magorium ruin his career?

He hasn't done anything notable within the last decade, except Little Fockers, Chef, and the Kung Fu Panda trilogy (he also directed Quartet, but I'm talking about acting). He was once considered to be one of the greatest living actors alongside Pacino and De Niro; did Mr. Magorium ruin that for him?
