should play a psycho

hed be great as a cowardly murderous psycho on the loose, absolutely off the charts mad man (I'm thinking abit like Scorpio in Dirty Harry), maybe abit autistic like Gump to make it even more disturbing

someone like Denzel or Crowe as the Dirty Harry type cop who has to take him down

Also he has no dialogue like at all. And he has to let his hair go longer and curly.. so hed sort of look like he did in the 80s but older

Robin Williams did the crazy psycho stuff great later in his career after starting out with comedy then went serious drama/Oscar stuff.. Hanks should do it

Henry Fonda was always the good guy and when he finally played the bad guy it was one of his absolute best roles.
Once Upon a Time in the West (1968)

Hanks should give it a shot.

reply

He did, it’s called “A League of Their Own.”

He did an absolutely AWFUL job trying to play a hitman in "Road to Perdition." Pretty much brought the whole film down.

Hanks plays one character, and that's it. He just does different variations of it in each movie.

He's like Matt Damon, where the second I see him on film, I think, "Oh, it's Matt Damon," and I never buy him as the character.

reply

Nobody would ever buy Hanks as a shaggy, wildman out-of-control killer with no dialogue. Why even bother hiring Hanks for a mute performance? I could easily see him as a disciplined BTK style killer though. A guy with a job, a wife and kids and a sterling rep in his community who indulges in brutal serial murder as a hobby. That would be great.

reply

Yes that would be probably better actually.. the Hanks we know and love but just happens to be a serial killing maniac (as a result no one suspects him ever) almost like a human looking Pennywise, murdering innocent people in a variety of increasingly disturbing ways

Who would be the cop trying to figure out what's happening ? Someone Hanks has never starred with and you'd just never expect to see in ä film with him.. like Cage or Travolta or Pitt, RDJnr, or even The Rock or Vin!

reply

Unless it would be too gimmicky, I would like to see Peter Dinklage. I do not know if dwarfs are disqualified from becoming police officers, though. If so, maybe someone with a rather ineffectual persona for the cop. Someone who would seem less credible in his suspicions than Hanks would in his defense. An actor or actress on the young side with a kind of weak presence like Daniel Radcliffe or Robert Pattinson, or someone a little older but with a lackadaisical careless persona like Chris Pratt. Oh, also I would like it to be set in a small town, with the young or seemingly slack protagonist as an inexperienced local police chief competing against a seasoned veteran FBI man like Liam Neeson who has another suspect already chosen.

All interesting stuff, the going against convention thing, maybe wed need Rian Johnson to direct!

I've been hoping for Hanks to play full bad for a while. I recently saw the trailer for News Of The World, a western, where he takes on a young girl whose family was murdered by indians. I'm like I want to see a movie where Hanks is the one that killed this girl's family. Prob won't happen though. His son Colin did a movie called Lucky where he played a serial killer.

Maybe they should remake Once Upon a Time in the West. Tom Hanks as the Henry Fonda role, Benicio Del Toro as Charles Bronson, Michael Shannon as Jason Robards and Salma Hayek as Claudia Cardinale.

reply

🤦🏻‍♂️

reply

Well, I'd rather see that than some of the other crap remakes they spit out.

reply

That's a good cast.. Salma Hayek would work but maybe go a little younger.

reply

How about Eva Mendes?

reply

I thought about her. I was thinking someone with a similar bust size to Cardinale/Hayek. This isn't crucial. If anything they would be less likely to sex up the female lead for a modern date reboot.

reply

Oh yeah, that bust size!!! It would probably be impossible for them to equal Cardinal or Salma in their prime... https://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7596/2073/1600/CCardinale1.jpg

Son Colin Hanks was credible on Dexter.
