Awww...he didn't like Ricky Gervais sayiing

that these pampered, spoiled stars " are in no position to lecture us about anything".

Truer words were never spoken.

I've NEVER liked Tom Hanks and have always found him to be the blandest, most uncharismatic "star" in Hollywood.

reply

Just curious; why did you put an apostrophe in his name?

reply

Good question.

Fixed.

reply

:)

Thank god, someone who doesn't get bent out of joint when someone else points out a typo. :) :)

reply

Grammar nazi

reply

Looks like I spoke too soon. There's always one.

reply

I dont care neither.

reply

Provocative. :)

reply

Apostrophes are not grammar. They are punctuation.

reply

My identity as Nayanak serves me no longer. I reclaim my true name...APOPHIS

reply

Formatting mistakes are not grammar mistakes, Miss Thing. They are formatting mistakes.

If you’re gonna bitch, then bitch correctly.

I know. That’s asking a lot.

reply

Stfu.

reply

Where is his error?

reply

He's been in some pretty good movies, but over time it seems he's becoming more of an uptight self righteous douchebag. This could not be more evident by the pompous self-important looks of disapproval on his face during Ricky Gervais monologue at the Golden Globes

reply

This is why the Ricky Gervais monologue went viral, because its a leftist roasting other leftists.

reply

He's always been real. I don't always agree with him, but he's pretty straight up with his beliefs.

reply

He's a backstabber like the rest of 'em - just plays the part of the nice guy.

reply

The day that anyone receives a lecture from Ricky Gervais about being pampered, spoiled stars is a bad one.

reply

I liked him better in his early works, when he liked to yell at everyone and act silly. In fact, he didn't yell, he roared.

reply

Hahaha, yeah, with you on that. I didn't watch the show, but I did see the highlights of Hanks looking shocked and offended. I am sick and tired of overpaid super-rich celebrities trying to drive societal norms or acting like royalty.

I like Hanks in "Bosom Buddies" up to "Big", and now he is just a generic face that they use in movies. Blah ... that is what he is, blah.

reply

I thought it was impossible to dislike Tom Hanks. I guess anything is possible on MovieChat.

reply

He's a good actor, but he's been extremely successful since he was quite young. It's silly for him to deny that he fits exactly into the mold that Ricky was making. You win the lotto as far as careers go Tom, be glad you did and that it let's you live a pampered life, but don't kid yourself about who you are.

reply

Perfectly true. He's a good actor, but like anyone at his level of fame, he's pretty far removed from the riff-raff (rest of us).

reply

I dont know. The only lectures I've seen Hanks give were about remembering and honoring WWII vets. Even though they handed the country and world over to the real evil and killed millions of their brothers in the process, I think he feels it's okay to raise awareness for them.

If I could embed images you would be looking at a quizzical dog, sir.

reply

I don't like him either.

reply

It is long past time for Hanks to go away. He’s the contemporary Jimmy Stewart, so bland and ubiquitous that it seems like “everybody likes him,” but the reality is that he’s so bland and ubiquitous and smugly self-satisfied that he is actually repulsive.
