One Hit Wonder?

There have been quite a few actors in Hollywood who are really only known for one role. Some of them don't surprise me all that much, some really do. I'm kinda surprised that Linda is only really well known for her role in Terminator (although I know about her in that Beauty and the Beast show, but she seems more known for Terminator 1 + 2). And I haven't really seen her in much else besides that. What do you think happened? How do you think an actress like Sigourney Weaver, who's also known mostly for her role in the Alien series, yet her career went pretty strong for the most part (heck, she even had major cameos in recent movies like PAUL and Cabin in the Woods), yet Linda Hamilton's career goes practically nowhere for the past few years? I'd really like to hear what you guys think about this one...

Sigorney was a romantic lead opposite Harrison Ford in "Working Girl" AND she also had the "serious actress" thing going after "Year of Living Dangerously". She wasn't any better as a female action lead than Linda but I think as an actress she had a little better range of roles, even if she willingly typecast herself in the Alien franchise.

It's too bad Holllywood couldn't find another use for her after T2, it was kind of a waste of a credible female action lead. Maybe if the lag between T2 and T3 hadn't been so long it's story line could have worked her character into it.

I, too, know about her from the "Beauty and the Beast" days, since I grew up watching the series in the '80s, and loved her ever since. I confess I've never seen those Terminator movies, and I don't think I ever will; however, she's still an icon and an impressive beauty in my book.

73 acting credits is not that bad for a one hit wonder!
Women in Hollywood are "dead" after 40 and blame is on us moviegoers.

She has been out of the picture for a while because of her struggle with bipolar disorder and trying to get it under control. She is set to play a bipolar character, Pilar McCawley, on a couple of episodes of Defiance.

You're a bit mistaken about Working Girl. Melanie Griffith was the lead actress in that movie opposite Harrison Ford. Sigourney Weaver was in the movie, but she plays the boss Griffith steps in for and even poses as. Weaver's character is out of commission for much of the film (it might have been a broken leg) and isn't the romantic lead.
