Sitcom cameos.

He was brilliant as Scott Wooley in Will and Grace and as Leonard Hayes in Friends.
Such a talented and versatile actor.

So brilliant in interviews as well

I can't recall seeing any but I imagine him being charming and personable in real life.

I remember him in a TV movie playing the comedian, Ernie Kovacs. He was really great in that. He recreated some of the guy's comedy routines brilliantly. It made me want to know as much as I could about Kovacs.... also Jeff Goldblum! It's been years since I have seen it. It's only a made for TV Bio movie, but it's very hard to find. Anyway, it's called, Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter

reply

That's quite strange because in the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel he plays a character called Deputy Kovacs!

No kidding! I haven't seen that. The description sounds interesting. must check that one out.

In my humble opinion it's a marvellous film, one of my favourites actually. Super performances.
It's got some wicked comedy (quite dark but not crude) and some genuinely sad moments.
A great story too.

P.S I have to say taking a leaf out of your book is working well, I've really enjoyed it and have had a surprising amount of responses.

Isn't it so much nicer actually talking about movies and shows? I have also noticed that one movie or actor leads to something else to look up and comment on.
I would rather do this than rate a weekly dirctor's list of movies... most of which I had never heard of. The stupid part of all of that was the idea might have been good if only there had been more discussions about the films on those threads. I might have been more encouraged to find some of the films I'd never seen.
I can get use to this just fine.

Yes definitely, one thing leads to another. The trending section is a real winner in this respect.
The weird thing is that on IMDb I never visited the GD board if there even was one!
I avoided FG like the plague, likewise the Politics board.
I was always happier doing this.
It's strange, we all got comfy in one place which I'm sure was never the intention.

This is what I always did too. I admit that I had my favorite TV show boards, certain actors..etc. but I moved around and talked movies.
I believe the board where people talked about random things was called the soapbox on IMDb. That's probably the equivalent of GD here.
I agree. We all came together there, and sadly, we more or less stayed. We'd found new friends who were in the same boat we were in.
The trending section is such a great idea. I remember another small improvement. Trending was expanded. That was another thing that happened before Jim went away.
I really do think that we have gotten way too familiar with folks on GD. So familiar that we are just plain sick of the same stuff that's posted. It's good to get away from that. It was bringing me down and making me feel evil towards others. In one word? Toxic.

reply

The soapbox yes! That was an insane place.
I really enjoyed the I need to know board too, there were some very clued up people there. I wonder where they went?

It's been very refreshing and as you said you meet people who have never been near GD, like a breath of fresh air. The Yonkers air is....Toxic!
