Where did she get the name Whoopi Goldberg from?

When she was born she came of her moms nunny so fast it made a whoop noise.
Her mom added Goldberg on the end coz she wanted to be classy

I saw an interview with her, it's because she farted a lot as a kid so her family nicknamed her Whoopi like whoopy cushion haha I'm not kidding or trying to be funny, that is the reason
