Iron Man 4 next for Mel Gibson?

He's also said that he isn't a fan of comic book movies, but I think he'd be able to do it justice. I'd be interested in seeing it, I've never been a fan of the Iron Man movies despite really liking Robert Downey Jr's portrayal as Tony Stark. The first one was ok, the second and third were pretty underwhelming.

It'll never happen. first off because Gibson isn't interested. and secondly Disney would never hire him. Gibson isn't anyone they can control and that scares them. plus If its a RDJ demand after getting over 100 million from them to be Iron Man then they might say enough. And let's face it It would be enough. RDJ is well paid to be Iron Man and since they are being successful with their property I think Disney would toss some money at Gibson but not enough and say oh well he said no.
They would not go the extra mile to secure Gibson just to please RDJ.

Is there an actual quote of Downey saying that? If so, I would guess he was sarcastic, basically saying "when pigs fly". But it sure would be interesting with a Gibson-helmed MCU film.
