Why is he mostly grumpy?

He's a great actor. But most of the time on set and stuff he comes off as grumpy. Especially about movie roles.

He's an actor.

Did you expect him to be Indiana Jones or Han Solo in his every day life?

reply

He's probably not one for talking about himself but he has to to sell a movie. Sometimes shyness and lack of openness comes off as grumpy.

And the guy has played Han Solo and Indiana Jones two of the most iconic movie characters of all time from two of the biggest, most popular franchises so he's probably sick of hearing and being asked the same questions over and over.

I reckon you got a bargain don't you?

reply

He hates being famous--understandably. He is arguably one of the most famous actors from back in the day and gets asked the same questions now he did then. He's sick of everyone knowing him and I dont blame him.
Honestly, if I ever saw him out and about, I think I wouldnt bother going up to him. I have a lot of respect for him and I'd rather miss out on shaking his hand than deprive him of any more anonimity.

reply

He doesn't mind signing autographs half as much as he minds being asked lame questions by fanboys.

reply

He doesn't mind things from people if they're civil and relaxed. But the gushing fanboy crap and stupid questions from dumb reporters he can't stand.

reply

Guess the hating fanboy questions explains why he broke the extremely hard to put together millenium falcon made out of legos from a fan who just wanted an autograph on conan. I hate him for that. Not funny at all.

That was planned. Look at everyone else on stage laughing and how over exaggerated and fake Harrison's dropping of it were.

How does he hate being famous and why is it understandable? He lucked into a career that many could have only dreamed of and became a mega star\famous out of the process. If he didn't want to be famous, why keep making movies if it wasn't what he wanted? I couldn't say if he is ungrateful or ungracious about what life has offered him, but when you reach his status there is price to pay and that just comes with the territory. Tough Tamales!

He did luck out and I'm sure he realizes how lucky he is. There are many perks to being a man of his status. But it's a bittersweet thing. What he doesn't like about it is his complete loss of anonymity. As I said, he is tired of repetitive fanboy questions about movies and characters that he thinks are great...but not that great. He may not even understand why Star Wars is such a widely loved franchise. He certainly doesn't understand why anyone would care who shot first (Han or Greedo?) as that's one question that often comes up and it's clear he is tired of answering it. And wouldn't you be? He's been famous for 40+ years. FORTY OR MORE! Wouldn't you get tired of it eventually? I would. He keeps making movies, however, because it's what he loves to do. He loves to act. I don't think he is ungrateful about what life has offered him, as I said: there are plenty of perks to being famous. But sometimes, it can get annoying. And I don't think that that is unreasonable.
