I was going to see if there was a thread about this. Because of his last name beginning with "F," when his name is pronounced, it always sounds like Ray Fiennes.

Why is it "Rafe" when there's an "l" in his name?

It's an old-English pronunciation of the name. It's in the trivia section too

Because he's a pretentious twat. My name is Simon but I don't go around saying it's pronounced 'see-mon' like the French say it. Actors do tend to be pretentious but he's more than most are.
