YOU CAN'T RECYCLE ACTORS

ok enough already we've been there and done that a million times. So what she's played two different characters on GG. I'm sure that with all of the television shows on tv, someone has played different characters on the same show before. I mean get over it already, if it's such a problem, you should stop watching the show!!!

Marpic is right, there are probably literally thousands of actors and actresses that have appeared on a show as two different characters. I can think of about a dozen right now!

I understand what you're saying about actors showing up in various roles (it is just the sort of quirky thing that makes GG what it is), but in this case the duality is a bit confusing just because of who the two characters are in relation to Luke and Jess.

For those of us trying to catch up with the experts, please let me know if I've got this right:

As "Sasha", she is the step-mother to Luke's nephew Jess.

As "Anna", she is the mother of Luke's daughter April (so April is Jess's cousin)

Questions: What is the family relation that makes Jess the nephew of Luke...are Jimmy and Luke brothers or is Jess the son of Luke's sister?

Anyway, to get back on point, if Jimmy and Luke ARE brothers then it is pretty messed up that they used the same actress to play the wife of one and former love interest of the other.

Okay, before anyone else points it out:

In the previous post I probably should have indicated that Sasha and Jimmy may not be married. I didn't see the entire episode so I wasn't sure. If they are just dating, please substitute the following for the offending statements.

Replace "is the step-mother to" with "dates the father of" Luke's nephew Jess.

Replace "the wife of one" with "the girlfriend of one".

Jess is Liz's son with Jimmy. Liz is Luke's younger sister.

I heard (from Michael Ausiello) that Amy Sherman Palladino just really likes Sherilyn as an actress, so that's probably why she showed up as another character. He thinks that she will be cast in ASP's new show too.

and another thing. she has a "smart" daughter when she plays jimmys girlfriend or wife or whoever she was to him...

This is not the first time GG has "recycled!" Marion Ross played Trix (Grandma) Gilmore and Richard's cousin! Don't forget that Alex Borstein has been more then one character on GG. Amy is very loyal to her actors, that is a very cool thing! You don't see that kind of thing in Hollywood alot! I admit at first it's a bit annoying, but you get over it!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Sheryl Lee playing two different characters on Twin Peaks yet! :)
