do women like Clint?

A question for the female viewers of Eastwood films: Do women like Clint Eastwood? I'm talking about his film characters, not his real life character! Clint is very masculine, resolute, cool, and very handsome. But his characters are never very happy, fun or playful. He's somewhat humourless. You barely see him laugh and he's famous for his squint. I personally think this makes him such a badass, but what do women think of this?

I've never found him in the least appealing as a man. My older sister was a big fan of his character on 'Rawhide'. I had a friend in high school that dragged me to a few of his films and she would positively swoon over him. I guess he's just not my type.

Now that I think of it, he is rarely seen kissing or making love on screen. It's often implied, but not shown. He always seems to play the emotionless 'man of steel' type that some women are drawn to. Meh! He's tall, and when he was young he had a great head of hair--that's about all I can say for his looks.

I have enjoyed certain films of his for the stories:

The Beguiled
Play Misty for Me
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Unforgiven
Million Dollar Baby

I skipped most of his western and cop films.

I worked at a movie theater in early 2009, and one rainy day, a middle aged woman bought a ticket for "Grand Torino". She told me how she never went to the movies by herself, but that she would always make an exception for a Clint Eastwood film. She went on and on about how much she loved him and how she was his biggest fan. When I asked her what her favorite Eastwood movie was, she told me "Absolute Power", which I remember thinking was an odd, random choice.

Sorry. I know that doesn't answer your question, but some conversations in life that you have with strangers you never share or think about. I guess I just wanted to write about this so that I could remember that it actually happened.

I've been doing an Eastwood marathon lately and I am drawn to his characters. Strangely enough, I found his older character in In the Line of Fire very disarmingly charming and cute. Maybe because, like the other poster says, he rarely has a love interest on film therefore you don't see him try to woo women with his charms. & he is very charming, whether he plays a badass or a vulnerable guy woing a girl. You rarely even see him smile but it was there that I saw that he had a very boyish one. I'm also drawn to strong silent men type characters, like Michael Corleone, so now I'm a new fan.

This girl seems to be too overexcited to meet Eastwood. He seems to have jumped to get away from her aggressive advances, lol!

Clint Eastwood, in his youth, was one of the best-looking men around. I have seen him in quite a few of his earlier movies, but tonight I watched "Paint Your Wagon" for the first time, and I have to say that CE is absolutely super good-looking in that movie! When I see what he looks like today, it's hard to believe that he was once soooo handsome. It's heartbreaking...sigh...

The only other westerns, besides Unforgiven, he did that were great was easily the Man With No Name trilogy. I'd recommend those if you liked the movies you listed above. Those three are
A Fistfull Of Dollars (1964)
For A Few Dollars More (1965)
The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly (1966)

It is rather sad these posts don't have the amazing experiences people had at the cinema anymore, I miss those and DEFINITELY prefer them over some of the nasty, soulless stuff people post on here nowadays.
