Leonardo DiCaprio Celebrates Birthday on Vacation with Nina Agdal — and His Mom

Leonardo DiCaprio had his loved ones close as he celebrated another year under his belt.

The actor jetted to French Polynesia last week for his 42nd birthday festivities with girlfriend Nina Agdal and his mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, by his side, PEOPLE confirms.

As first reported by Page Six, the group, which also included film producer Mike Medavoy and his wife, stayed at The Brando on Tetiaroa, the French Polynesian island where Marlon Brando once made his home. The lavish resort boasts sustainability practices, perfectly fitting DiCaprio’s passion for environmental activism.

DiCaprio and Agdal — who have been dating since July — are constantly globetrotting, vacationing everywhere from the beach on a private Bahamian island to a weekend getaway in Montauk, New York.

Although the Oscar winner has dated a number of models, a source told PEOPLE that things with Agdal are getting serious.



“Leo seems very into her,” the source said. “He constantly holds her hand and kisses her. Nina seems to enjoy Leo’s company, too. She acts very giddy around him. She has great energy and seems to make Leo very happy.”

“She is quirky and has a very goofy personality. She seems mature for her age, too. Whenever they spend time together, Leo acts very happy,” the insider adds. “For Leo, Nina seems like a breath of fresh air.”
