CHRISTOPHER NOLAN GETTING SNUBBED AT THE OSCARS FOR INCEPTION

Time Magazine February 7, 2011

Whose dreams does Christopher Nolan have to invade to get some Oscar respect? His Batman threnody The Dark Knight wowed the critics and earned $1 billion worldwide, but neither the film nor its director was nominated ( a slight that spurred the Academy to expand the Best Picture category from five to 10 last year). Inception, a more audacious creation on a vaster canvas, picked up eight nominations, mostly in the craft categories, but Nolan as director again felt the cold silence. No film since 1989’s Driving Miss Daisy has won Best Picture without its director being nominated, and Inception won’t break that streak. The Academy just isn’t Nolan’s demographic.

It wasn't good enough to win. The Hurt Locker was the better film. And the Batman Trilogy only had one solid film in 3 and even that wasn't Best Picture worthy

Please turn in your Leo card. You are a fair-weathered fan, at best.

Well I think that's just bull. I didn't think much of The Hurt Locker at all. Inception was up for Best Picture - there are only 5 director nominations, so obviously some directors will be left out.

TDK was absolutely flawless and should won the best adapted screenplay. But I agree with you on Inception!

I realize you're a Nolan fanboy, but you are honestly trying to sell me on TDK being better than No Country for Old Men, There Will be Blood, and Away From Her?

Just because you like a movie, doesn't make if flawless or Oscar worthy.
