He's aged 25 years in 7 years!

In 2010, he still looked like a 30 something. I remember thinking 'he doesn't seem to age at a normal rate.'

Look at this picture:

Now look at this photo from 2017.

It seriously looks like 25 years of ageing inbetween. One man a 30 something, the other a 50 something (and an unhealthy 50 something.)

I know with a lot of people their age suddenly catches up on them (Matt Damon comes to mind) but this is bad ageing as well. Poor Johnny, he was once 'the worlds sexiest man.'

He kept his looks for an unusually long time, in spite of his alleged bad habits.

He made up for lost time fast, didn't he?

"He kept his looks for an unusually long time, in spite of his alleged bad habits."

Exactly. All his excessive drug uses and alcohol abuses would come and bite him one day or another.

reply

'the worlds sexiest man.' Anyone who said that are morons. Anyways, that last picture seems to showcase a lot of drug abuse. Is it reported on that he is an addict? Would explain why he has gotten so messed up in the last few years. Just like Jim Carrey has.

reply

He was very sexy, I think women loved him and men wanted to look like him.

reply

he was pretty... not all men want to look like that...

Well, he used to a big drug user but apparently (from what he says) was clean for a while now. There's no way to prove that he was 100% drug clean though.

reply

The drugs were probably keeping him young. The stress of quitting made him age.

Depp had great genes and maybe a magic portrait. But he also partied hard. Partying hard keeps you young, in mind. Which does effect the body. But then it catches up with you fast. Johnny also did LOTS of makeup roles which wasn't happenstance.

Ewan McGreggor also kept his looks for a long time. And Pierce Brosnan. Some men just got it.

reply

I agree he aged considerably but perhaps his age simply caught up with him? He had good genes and looked younger than he was despite the drugs and drinking, but you can't keep that up forever.

reply

Looks like a pretty cliche heroin addict now. Given his new literal rock n roll lifestyle, I don't doubt.

reply

He must have a great connection.

It is what it is. Age catches up with everyone. You seriously just wake up one day and you may have a new ache, grey hair starting etc. Those pictures are seven years apart. Most of us can still look 30 in our late 40's. I do. But I am starting to see the elasticity if my skin lessen. It literally does begin to happen overnight. I don't drink or smoke. Never have. But yeah its finally catching up. Depp should stay clean shaven he looks younger. He looked pretty good a few years ago with the whole australia with thr dog incident.

reply

Still, Depp didn't age at a normal pace. He kept his natural good looks well into his forties, to the point where people were wondering how the hell it did it... and then boom! In the space of a few years, he went from Dorian Gray to Dorian Gray's portrait!

I still wonder how that could happen so fast, it's not normal aging.

reply

Alcohol abuse most likely. My uncle was a solid alcoholic for 10 years, looked fine, and then his body started to break down. He’s 50s but looks elderly now. I think once your organs start to go you show your age and then some.

reply

That would be my guess as well, and another guess would be that he's very close to the point of no return for health. And I'm not guessing which side of that point he's on!

It's very sad. I used to be a fan, but I can't even feel sorry for him. It doesn't seem that he's ever tried to change.

reply

He looks terrible these days.
