Acting gives you insights into character, for sure, but they generally are quite hypocritical in their views.
Like "don't build a wall!" - goes home to mansion with 7 foot walls.
"Feed the poor!" - spends $5,000 on a handbag.
Get my drift?
While some might be hypocritical, like Otter's example of owning a private jet while preaching Green being salient, I don't see the two examples you cited as necessarily implying hypocrisy.
Many people including Republicans think building a wall on the Mexican border would be a giant waste of money when most illegal immigration is due to visa overstays, not illegal border crossings on the southern border.
I also don't see the inherent contradiction of buying a 5k handbag so long as one is also donating substantial sums to charities that feed the poor.
