Have you lost respect for De Niro?

I don't live in the US. But I know Trump is the new President & saw De Niro mocking the New President.

Have you lost respect for him? Or do you support him?

reply

I still love him as an actor and I don't begrudge him having a political opinion, even if it's opposite mine. I just don't think it's nice or prudent of Hollywood to throw its weight around in the political arena.

A year old thread and it's still valid. I know you are not supposed to call people re-tards but this mook is a king re-tard and sinking fast.

reply

Yes he's way out of line and seems like a bitter lunatic.

reply

The line between the real De Niro and Travis Bickle is starting to blur.

lol

reply

Lost respect for him long before he became a leftie hypocrite, I can't stand actors who act self-important, believe their own hype and start spouting their political views, I own a great deal of his movies, admire his acting skills, and have been always been a huge fan of his but he hasn’t made anything of note in 20 years, and in that 20 years it’s been bad movie after bad movie!

He's just a clown now, when once he was king.

reply

Let's say, he went on a pro N.R.A rant, would you have lost respect for him, then? Because that is still spouting political views.

reply

Yes, I'm about as interested in political views of people from the entertainment industry as I’m interested in the political views of my postman.

And that's who Trump is. A self-centered idiot who leveraged a pathetic amount of notoriety into having the most important job in the world. And he has showed his colors and failed badly. He's like PT Barnum, but not not as smart.

reply

yes I have, just one more elitit worthless sack of shit that doesn't really know anything.

Roberto Dinero is a bit over the top, and if this is real, I've gained respect for him. I've never thought he was a good actor or liked the kinds of movies he was in ... the Mafia nonsense. I consider movies like that to be negative and anti-social. Nevertheless, I don't think he is a good actor, but he has been in some noteworthy movies.

Everything Trump has done, and almost on a daily basis has shown disrespect for this country, a lack of decorum, a lack of understanding ... a kind of arrogance or a rich idiot who has more money than brains, and doesn't care about anything but himself. But that is America, and if he is seen for what he is, maybe, just maybe Americans can understand why we have gone from the savior of the world after WWII to just as ugly a super-power as Russia or China, that is part of the problem, not the solution.

Thank you so much for putting it better than I could. And also for your addendum below. It's so frustrating that with all our problems with entrenched politics, this is who the pubs choose to (un)fix it. My lord, it's like Alice In Dunderhead Land.

By the way, 1/2 of Republicans, or about 1/6th of the voting population likes Trump, but they are using social media and sites like this to have fake sock-puppets log in and make it seem like the majority of Americans support him.

No wonder he sees no difference between America and Russia.
