Her Career!?

What happened to her film career?

- she was declared to be one of HW's new young female superstars, but then all the buzz just, well kinda dried out all of a sudden. How come?

I think she's a brilliant actress, and she deserved a better career.

Too many bad choices at a critical stage of her career. Roles in unremarkable movies that no one saw. The big movies were either bad or forgettable (The Rainmaker, Mod Squad, T3, the family stone) and when they were good she only had small roles in them (u-turn, the Hours). The good roles are mostly in indie efforts that most people haven't seen (igby Goes Down, Broken Down Palace, stage Beauty, shop girl). I guess she missed her window. She has had moderate success tho, and just got a star on the walk of fame. Still time for a second coming off the back of Homeland.

What if a squirrel wants a sausage?

Yeah she is one of my favorites but T3 didn't suit her at all. Sometimes becoming a good actor is knowing what to turn down.

She really got a star on the Walk of Fame? I mean I guess she's a big enough star but she's not like a superstar or anything. I mean really what is she really the most known for in her entire career? My life? Were the horrendous Terminator 3? I wouldn't say she's at all Hollywood Walk of Fame quality I always thought that was reserved for the big time actors.

Granted that she may not be hey Superstar her anything but she has maintain a certain level of success as an actress and always seems to keep herself in the spotlight but I always question whether she would be considered a list or not.

Turning down the secound highest grossing movie of all time wasn't the smartest choice (Titanic). However her reasoning probably makes sense, she had already made Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio so people would have viewed the Titanic movie as Romeo and Juliet 2. I'm surprised the studios couldn't see this problem when they offered her the role.

“I had just made a romantic epic with Leonardo [DiCaprio] – it just seemed redundant to me. The problem is that I always took myself too seriously. Now I realize I should have lightened up. I was a serious kid to an absurd degree. I was overwhelmed with responsibility, trying to play grown up. I overdid it.”
