What a Hypocrite!

Headline today:

John Cusack Slams Hollywood, Compares Town To A "Whorehouse" Where "People Go Mad"

He is critical of Hollywood, yet look at his output. According to IMDB he had 7 projects in 2013, has 8 in 2014 and already has 2 scheduled for 2015. He might seem appalled at the system as it exists, but he certainly seems to avail himself of it.

No surprise there. Money talks.

He's not lying!!! It's a terrible place and I've known several people who have gone out there and had their dreams crushed.

One of my favorite actos, Jason Isaacs once spoke about how "toxic" Hollywood was. These guys realize that's not all dreams and stars out there.

That doesn't make him a hypocrite for calling Hollywood a whore house. He wasn't complaining about not getting work but rather the mentality behind the machine. I happen to agree with his assessment, but I would say that he's being WAY TOO KIND.

Most of his projects since the Poe movie have been indie films made outside the system. Now if that is because the Poe film flopped and he can't get a major role or he choose to walk away I don't know.

He has never been a Hollywood type. Back in the 80's when he was a teen and got lu8mped in with the "Brat Pack" even though he never made a film with any of them then, he said he hated all of that labeling and the "limitations" that came with being labeled.

If anything he is one of the few honest people in the biz. Him and maybe Clooney.
