I figure they'll have to get Tom Cruise to play Tom Cruise.

He's in the top ten of all time box office actors. He's been consistently churning out movies for the last 35 years. He's still a credible action star who does a lot of his own dangerous stunts.
Who else has those kind of credentials to play him?
They're just going to CGI him like they did with Peter Cushing. He can't play himself due to the potentially dangerous interactions that may occur with thetan energy in this scenario.
