Nobody Goes to His Movies, But He Sells His Tequila Biz for $300 Million...

Amazing.

A good actor George Clooney may be, and a handsome man, but there's something about him that people don't want to see:

Hail Caesar
Tomorrowland
Money Monster
The Monuments Men
The American
The Good German
Leatherheads

...I mean, take out the Oceans movies(with Pitt, Damon, Roberts, Pacino et al), The Perfect Storm(that wave) and, recently Gravity(really Bullock's movie) and...he isn't a stand-alone movie star. I don't think Up in the Air and Michael Clayton made all that much money. The Descendants, maybe.

But he still owns a castle in Italy and he's married to a major international lawyer, and he just sired two kids at an older age....AND...

...he just sold a tequila company he opened "on a lark" for $300 million!(about $140 million into his pocket.)

George Clooney might be the first movie star to become mega-rich without his movies making much money at all...

True, he also left ER after just 5 seasons so not sure how much money he made there.

Yeah, that too!

Superior career and investment management without really ever being a movie star that a lot of people wanted to see.

Of course, he purposely chose a lot of sophisticated, art- type movies, too, that were never bound to make Marvel dollars(after being perhaps the worst Batman in definitely the worst Batman movie).

I guess he knew he could get rich elsewhere.

Acting opened the doors. He's be shining shoes at the airport if he didn't get a foot in the door.

FOREVER COOL FOR HIS WORK IN FROM DUSK TILL DAWN.
