I read her mom is Chinese/ Filipino. I think her dad is Jewish, but I could be wrong. I also read she owns a store in NY. At least she has a back up plan.

shareI think her mother's probably Fujian Chinese Filipino because I know quite a few myself. Phoebe naked in "Paradise" looked way hotter than in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" although she's hot in that as well.

shareI looked up her filmography and she really did avoid portraying any type of Asian character even though she looks more Asian that the Tilly sisters who could pass for White a lot more than Phoebe can.
shareWeirdly enough, she wanted to work with Jackie in the nineties on Operation Condor. The character that she would have played would not have been particularly Asian in character, only in appearance. The character was going to be the one ultimately played by Shôko Ikeda.
Jackie turned down Phoebe because he didn't think that she could handle the Hong Kong style of making movies e.g. there wouldn't be any trailers for her or any of the other luxuries. I think that Jackie was partly influenced by what happened when several American TV stars attempted to work on a remake of Mr. Vampire.
I was surprised to learn that the Tilly siblings were part Asian years ago. Are they still acting?
