Why wasn't there a National Treasure 3?

Seriously.

Enough BS. These films weren't exactly **** but they were family friendly live-action hits for Disney.

Blaming it on the scripts is ridiculous. As seen on another former IMDB thread.

It's not like they were doing a sequel to "Schindler's List" or "The Godfather". I'm assuming everyone involved in the film knew that already.

This was a very, very successful franchise and then it just suddenly...stopped.
