How can anyone say this man is a bad actor?

Seriously has anyone who gives him crap ever seen some of his earlier stuff, before National Treasure (and I even liked him in that). This guy is electric and immensely entertaining. Raising Arizona, Leaving Las Vegas, Vampire's Kiss, Adaptation, Moonstruck, hell even Face/off were great movies and he gave enthusiastic performances in every one. Even in some of his crap movies he is at least fun to watch. I mean I am not going to say you have to like him, but I don't really understand the abuse against Cage besides his turn in the Wicker man. I will freely admit that was an abomination.

Because they are idiots, its like when a movie bombs in the box office they blame the main actor... they dont blame the director, they dont blame the script writer....they blame the actor... screw logic...

Similar thing goes with Cage, cause Cage for some unknown reasons gets into terrible/rubbish movies, for most people that automatically makes him a bad actor... well no he isnt , IMO he is a great actor.

This movie choices though....is his manager fault? its his fault? wtf are they thinking? are they both high when they pick movies?.....dunno.....

I think he's gotta get more choosy about the roles he does. Its down to him and/or his management to be more careful because clearly he is actually a very good actor.

you set up what is called a "straw man."

The simple fact is cage is in bomb movies because that is all he is offered since he is a lousy actor.

When really they should be blaming the studio, especially on any project over $50 million. All these people, the director, the screenwriter, the editor - they're working for the studio. The studio call the shots; any creative decision has to be "okayed" by the studio.

Most directors and screenwriters have very little creative control.

@martinlloydthomas Jamie Foxx said that early in his career he did a lot of bad movies, and people would tell him to be more choosy and he'd say, "But that's all that they're offering me."

I think that's where Cage is now - bad movies are all he's being offered.
