I am not much of a Broderick fan (including Ferris Bueller) but he was superbly oily in Election. For me, that's his best performance by a mile.

Biloxi Blues. He definitely played to perfection the "smart aleck New Yorker" who irritated his drill Sargent. I can watch that movie any time and laugh out loud. It's also a plus that the supporting cast was superb and the dialogue sparkled.

Jerome: "You don't know where West Virginia is? Didn't you take geography?"

"I was absent that day."

Jerome: "It's hard to believe that these guys had mothers and fathers who were worried about them."

Drill Sargent Toomey: "You lookin to get your ass in a sling boy?"
Eugene Jerome:"No sir. It's fine just the way it is."
