Twitter Wonders Why the Mainstream Media is Openly Supporting Woody Allen in Spite of Evidence

In the old days, Gallup, The Harris Poll and others would conduct polls on any question, calling as few as 1500 people around the country and they were generally an accurate representation of the national opinion. That's because they selected the respondents more or less at random, after some checking for some demographic balance.

What we see now on Twitter though are a bunch of users who are self-selected and already have a bias one way or the other. Because there can always be found at least a few people on either side of any question, the tweets of these people do not constitute a significant or reflective opinion in any way. Indeed, in many cases they are even people who don't even care about the opinion much, but delight in the feeling of power they get from being the one who started or helped start a snowball effect of tearing someone down.

The wisest thing to do is to ignore Twitter as it is significant of nothing.
