NO MAIN BLACK CHARACTERS IN HIS MOVIES

IS HE A RACIST JEW?! why are there zero blacks as main characters? and why are the coen brothers doing the same thing? the only time i like All white casts is when I go to a sorority house to get swarmed. is he racist?

reply

IS HE A RACIST JEW?!

Are you a racist? You do seem to mention racial categorisations suspiciously often. Just saying.

These are the only words I have, I'm stuck with them, stuck in them

reply

Who cares?

reply

No, definitely not racist. it just seems woody is purposely avoiding casting blacks in decent roles in his films. After the last two academy awards, where zero blacks were nominated(Idris elba of this year deserved a nomination and david oyelowo of last year, for selma, deserved a nomination) and the industry was exposed for racism, Both the Coen brothers and woody allen are Jewish directors that are afraid of black people. none of the roles of blacks in these films are good. a whore, a maid? how is that good? but hey, I can definitely advise blacks, hispanics and asians to Snub any film by these jewish directors. and let's add the unfunny Judd Apatow! he's afraid of them, too! or maybe it's the nepotism many speak of, where jewish types only work with their relatives and jewish friends. GIRLS(the horribly stale hbo show) only has stale jewish actors or whites. it's so bad. anyway, We all have our opinions, but this isn't just an opinion, it's a big enough problem that If you search the topic in social media or search engine, you'll see the topic and the interviews. ah, but I never cared to watch a coen/cohen brother nor woody allen movie, anyway.

I suppose you exude that same passive ignorant mentality when You go eat mcdonald's and taco bell and look in the mirror wondering "should I go workout?" you say "who cares?" whatever. most of this country is filled with the passive and the gullible. seems You fall into that category.

reply

Tyler Perry doesn't seem interested in white actors, does he? Get it? And, anyway, Allen has more talent in his
left big toe than Tyler, or most other filmmakers, for that matter.

reply

what exactly are you implying woody allen did with his big toe?

reply

I'm not sure if you're trolling but, out of respect, I'll give this a go...I think Woody didn't include African Americans in this, as well as many of his films, because ay are period pieces where the presence of African Americans would be an anomaly...inconsistent. I just saw Cafe Society. Where would you place a character in a film about the Cafe Society in the 40's? I mean no disrespect.

reply

Okay, okay, you hate jewish people, I get it.

reply

Woody is simply writing about his own milieu, that's all. An artist is only obligated to be true to his or her own vision, and create what matters most to him or her. Just as black creators more often than not tend to focus on the black experience in America. There's room for all of them.

reply

Agreed. He is writing about life within his sphere and from his unique, personal perspective; it wouldn't be a Woody Allen film otherwise.

reply

Who cares? Don't watch his movies then. Not every scenario in life has black people in it. Guess who also doesn't appear in his movies. Latinos, Arab, Indians (either type), Asians, etc. He writes about what he knows and what he s been exposed to: White people. When I watch his movies, I'm paying attention to the story and plot. I don't need to identify directly with a particular character to enjoy it and I certainly don't reduce myself to the single black character just because we share the same skin tone. I'm much more than a color.
