Has aged 15 years in only 5 years

This is something that seems to happen with heart throbs. Their good looks make us think they look younger for a very long time (as we generally associate good looks with youth.)

Here is him in 2013:

And him today:

With his long caramel locks, you'd put him as late 30s to early 40s. Now he looks around 55.
It's sad.

They say thin men show their age after 40 and I think he held off until his 50s.
I think he needs to shave the grey beard, put on a little weight and get in a good place in his life. He seems to be showing his worries.

reply

He's still a very handsome man :)

reply

That's what "she" will do to you.

reply

He should shave the grey down

reply

You'd think someone had drained the life force out of him.

reply

That’s what an unhappy marriage, slowing career and copious amounts of alcohol will do to you.

reply

Slowing career? Yeah working with tarantino is really a slowing career.

reply

He’s certainly bounced back with this, I agree. Hopefully his Oscar win will be a boost to his slowing career.

I think all people, especially women (due to menopause), age dramatically in their 50’s. I remember seeing/reading an article which had photos of a group of either friends or family members, both sexes, taken every 5 or 10 years through out their lives, and the aging from 40s to 50s sure was significant.

I’m nearly at menopause (sorry for the TMI) and I’m shocked at how much older I look right now vs 2 years ago, and I lead a charmed (happy and content) life.

reply

I'm dreading my 40s. You can enter looking fairly young still and come out the other side of 50 looking quite old.

reply

Since you are in your 30s, I suggest to NOT think about it and enjoy yourself. It’s 15 years away AND nothing (literally) that you can do about it.

reply

Kids (stress), drinking (booze), smoking, and sun will age you horribly.

reply

AND nothing (literally) that you can do about it.

Bulls**t.

reply

So do something about it instead of sitting around worrying about it. Start now. Or stay there complaining and causing yourself stress that will age you.

reply

That's the problem. You were happy to let yourself go. You let it happen. Probably still live like you're in your 20's or 30's thinking it wouldn't age you.

reply

All the assumptions of strangers. Don’t drink, don’t smoke, yoga + hiking + cross training, 125#, low body fat (which ages people due to...lack of fat), very happily married. It’s lack of estrogen during menopause...but I suspect Mr Jason likes to talk a big talk and is really describing himself.

reply

We should all look so good at 55...

Seriously, though, this guy is in-shape, still looks great, and I'd buy him for late fifties. His long hair in the first picture is de-aging him a lot, the shorter look makes him look a touch older.

I don't see it. It looks like he's aged about five years in about five years, plus he's been well-preserved for decades.

At the age of 50 is when most men fall apart. For women it's far younger at around 30 years old.
